My kiddos are so excited that Valentine’s Day is this week! We’re having a Valentine party on Tuesday with some other homeschool families (at Chuckie Cheese’s…thanks to our street still being icy!) and they just can’t wait.
This month is not just about hearts and cupids, though. It’s also National Children’s Dental Health Month. Each February, the American Dental Association highlights the importance of teaching children good oral health.
To help teach these concepts and skills to my 5 year old son, I created this dental health unit for kindergarten and first grade a couple of weeks ago. It’s a week-long unit complete with a lesson plan, literature suggestions, math, phonics, writing, science, and art activities.
Below are a few pictures of what’s inside this unit:
And, I just updated the unit to include a fun, five-page emergent reader titled, “Brusha, Brusha, Rinse, and Spit”!
If you’re interested in learning more, stop by my TPT store where you can find a description of each page in the unit.
