About

Welcome to Primary Theme Park!

My name is Stephanie Trapp.  I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for twenty years.  We have two children: an fourteen year old daughter and an eleven year old son.

I was born and raised in Alabama, called Kentucky home for sixteen years and now reside outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, camping, hiking and doing anything creative. I absolutely love watching SEC College Football.

In 2000, I graduated from the University of North Alabama with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I spent a year in third grade, two years in fourth grade, and half a year as a Title I reading teacher and the other half of the year in fifth grade.  I also have experience teaching students on the Autism spectrum in the mainstream classroom.

After several years of teaching in public schools, I left the classroom when my first child was born and became a stay-at-home mom.  I always thought I’d return to teaching once my children went to school themselves, and in a way I did: I began homeschooling.  Between my public school teaching experience and years of homeschooling, I’ve taught everything from pre-K to sixth grade.

A lot of the early posts from this blog are from our homeschooling years.  I was creating things to use with my kids at home and wanted to share them with others. During this time, I discovered my love for making thematic units.  These days my kids are older and are in full-time school, but my love for creating and sharing teaching ideas and activities hasn’t changed!

At Primary Theme Park, my desire is to provide high-quality, engaging educational materials and resources for the regular classroom or homeschoolers.  So whether your class meets at your kitchen table or in a room full of desks, tables, and twenty-something bright faces, I hope you find something here for your students!

All the best,

Stephanie
