Apple stamping is a fun activity to include in an apple unit. Simply cut an apple in half, paint the flesh and press the apple onto a piece of paper. Use this same method to create this easy parts of an apple craft!
Parts of an Apple Craft
Materials
- apple cut in half
- paint brush
- red, brown, green and cream paint
- white paper
- pencil or marker
Directions
- Cut an apple in half. Paint the flesh of one half with red paint.
- Press or stamp the apple half a piece of paper.
- Use a small paint brush to fill in the apple.
- Use a paint brush to draw on a small brown stem. Dip a fingertip in green paint and press it near the stem to make the leaf.
- Paint the flesh of the other apple a light yellow or cream color. Press the apple half onto the paper. Use a small paint brush to fill in the flesh but do not fill in the core.
- Outline the shape in red paint using a small paint brush.
- Dip the rounded end of the paint brush in brown paint. Press it in the center of the apple to make seeds.
- Use a paint brush to draw on a small brown stem. Dip a fingertip in green paint and press it near the stem to make the leaf.
- Once the paint is dry, label the apple and draw lines from the words to the parts of the apple it matches. For younger students you might already have the parts of an apple printed on the paper and just have them draw lines from the words to the part it matches.
